Stroke – Mechanical Thrombectomy

A 23-year-old young male presented with complaints of sudden onset of giddiness and slurred speech for 6 hours.

MRI brain was done which showed a left cerebellar infarct i.e. Acute Stroke.

Emergency mechanical thrombectomy was done-

Pre-procedure: we can see occlusion of the basilar artery (arrow) with floating thrombus (clot) in a left vertebral artery (arrow).

Post-procedure: We can see complete recanalisation of the basilar artery and left vertebral artery.

Also, we can see the clots that were removed from the brain.
